Jesus vs Yeshua

Is Yeshua the legitimate name for Jesus?

This teaching says no. The speaker makes some interesting points even if I disagree with the KJV being the final authority.

What do you think?

    Hi T8,

It’s always good to set the record straight.

The Hebrew word [ישוע] Yəsh-yü-ă merely means ‘He will save’. This is done to distance [יה]’s salvation
from the man Jesus and is a rejection of Jesus as Messiah. This subtle distinction of [ישוע] Yəsh-yü-ă
purposely substituted for [יהשוע] YÄ-shü-ă usually goes unnoticed when heard by a non Hebrew-
speaking person; nevertheless, this wholly implies a specific denial of Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Jesus’ authentic name [יהשוע] YÄ-shü-ă has a direct connection to GOD’s name [יה] in that YÄ
is the first part of Jesus’ Hebrew name. GOD’s name is not vocalized in the English translation
of the name Jesus and therefore misses the precise exactness and direct authentic connection
to God’s Hebrew name [יה]. Jesus’ Name in Hebrew יהשוע means: (“YÄ is salvation” [יה]+[עשי]=[יהשוע])
the salvation of “GOD the Father”.

    Hi,

    ………………………………….YHVH is GOD

And this video provides evidence that there never was a “W” sound in ancient Hebrew.

    Hi Everyone,

Since we speak English, we say JEHOVAH and Jesus.
His spirit knows that Yəsh-yü-ă is WRONG WRONG WRONG!

T8, when you click on the read more link it does NOT take
you to the forum posts; you may want to correct this oversight.

EDJ…..JESUS IN HEBREW IS THE SAME WORD WE USE FOR JOSHUA, BOTH WORDS SAY “GOD SAVES” GOD USED JOUSHUA TO BRING ISREAL INTO THE PROMISE LAND, GOD USES JESUS TO BRING US INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD. The word simply mean God Saves. We need to look through the person and see who i the one actually doing the works in and through him. It is God himself doing the works, and it dosen’t matter who he does it through it still him doing it. IMO

peace and love to you and yours. ……gene

    That’s right Gene,

[יהשוע] YÄ-shü-ă is translated to English as Joshua.
And the book of Joshua is the book of [יהשוע] YÄ-shü-ă

………………“The Savior” = “God the Father”

And you are also right that “God the Father” is “The Savior”

“”O the hope of Israel, “The Savior” thereof in time of trouble,
why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as
a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tarry for a night?
    ” (Jer 14:8)

Note: that the highlighted part here in Jer 14:8 is in reference to Jesus.

    To all,

It is an ignorant argument since Peter(Greek) is also called Cephas(Aramaic). His name in English should be Rock or Stone. Jesus’ name translated into English is Godsaves or Godissalavation but translators tend to use the phonetic version of the Greek translation. We forget that names have meanings and so think that meaningless sounds are a person’s name because we have forgotten the meaning of our names. A translation from Greek would be that the angel told Jesus’ parents that the child’s name was to be Godsaves/Godissalvation and so emphasize the meaning of the words and not meaningless sounds.

Jesus named Simon Rock and not the meaningless sounds of either Peter or Cephas. Those sounds had meaning to the respective people that heard Simon called by them.

In this verse the AV of the KJV actually translates Peter to Stone though they fail capitalize it.

John 1:42Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

    John 1:42American Standard Version (ASV)

42 He brought him unto Jesus. Jesus looked upon him, and said, Thou art Simon the son of [a]John: thou shalt be called Cephas (which is by interpretation, Peter).
    Footnotes:

John 1:42 Greek Joanes: called in Mt. 16:17 Jonah.
John 1:42 That is, Rock or Stone.

This is an excellent video that brings out too many good points to mention. Suffice to say that the speaker could indirectly oppose Pastor Anderson’s view of Jesus vs Yeshua. I will give this video its own conversation however, so if you wish to discuss the content of the video outside of this topic, then do it there. The topic will be called “The Hebrew version of Matthew”.

T8, when you click on the read more link it does NOT take
you to the forum posts; you may want to correct this oversight.

If you are talking about the Activity page, then ‘Read more’ is simply a way to expand the post to its full content rather than viewing the first words of the post. The first words are shown only so that more posts fit on the page. It would render the page almost useless if all posts were expanded on that page. One post could take up the whole viewing window and more for example.

To get to the topic in the forums, that is linked at the top of each post on the Activity page.

    Hi T8,

No I was talking about the “Home” page.
There is no links to the continued discussion,
which in many cases is ongoing in the Heaven Net forum.

The link marked “Read more” is only a completion of the article on the Home page.
Shouldn’t it instead be a link to the first post on the forum, which is
identical to the completion of the article on the Home page?

It’s certainly true that the NT is all Greek and Christianity is much more of Greek origin than Hebrew. I’ve met people who like to think it’s a sin to call God Jehovah or call Christ Jesus which is entirely silly to me. God knows all languages and I don’t believe he’s so trivial about semantics.

I do agree or like some of what Pastor Anderson says about all this so called Jewish/ Messianic intrusion. The Nt makes it clear we don’t have to become Jews to be Christians. My mother may she rest in peace was at one time so confused by all the tv Jewish/Christian preachers that she quit eating pork and told me it was against God.I brought a few verses from the NT up to her and she realized she’d been religiously hoodwinked again. It’s all crazy!

I commented on the other post not realizing this one.

Some of what the modern day Judaizers have to say is interesting but many of them tie and twist the NT into more unnecessary knots.

EdJ. Heaven Net has pages with writings and also has a blog with smaller writings which are listed on the home page. The pages and blogs use to have a comment system, but that was too confusing for most members who spent most of their time in the forums. So I decided to rid the site of the comment system as it worked differently and in reverse order compared with the forums. I replaced it with a forum topic which members were familiar with.

In other word when a blog is created (Home Page) it creates a replica forum topic. And the beauty of it is that a comment in the blog or a post in the forum are the same because the blog uses the replica forum topic as its comment system. It was done to make things easier but you seem confused about it.

So again, the comments for the blogs are the posts in the forum topic whose first post is the blog post.

Even if you cannot understand it, it should be easy to use. Whether you are looking at a blog, page, or topic, the comment system for all is the forum topics.

    Hopefully that makes sense.

Of course you can just spend your time in the forum part of the site as usual. The blogs is really just a another way to represent some of the forum topics. It is easy on the eye for newcomers and gives a sense as to what is in the forums.

This page is the forum topic.

    Jesus vs Yeshua

    and this is the blog.
    https://heavennet.net/jesus-vs-yeshua/

Notice that they are really the same thing.
Your posts and even this one is in both because the blog uses the forum topic as its comment system.

It was done to eliminate confusion as the original comment system worked differently to the forums and it was too much for some members.

Ahh. It’s me again but with my Admin hat on.

There was a problem with this topic. For some reason there were two topics started. I merged the smaller one into this one.

The home page blog uses this topic now.

Thanks for pointing out that something was amiss.
