The Bible is not an end in itself, but a means to bring men to an intimate and satisfying knowledge of God, that they may enter into Him, that they may delight in His Presence, may taste and know the inner sweetness of the very God Himself in the core and center of their hearts.”

    Hi ,

The bible is many things to many people.

To some a source of cultural and historical fact.

But it should always challenge the human intellect.

It does not always fit with man’s intellectual standards.

Much of it is written in spiritual language which throws in strange differences in time speaking prophetically and retrospectively as if they are the same.

It is meant to be like this to make us search to know the Author and His ways.

    Hi,

Sadly some folk get stuck in the logical analysis of the words.

They can only hear the person such as Jesus Christ who says things.

They have to ignore what Jesus said about the Father speaking through him.

They form dogmas and doctrines and seem to be happy within those confines

    Hi,

Because Jesus said his words are spirit and life we should take a different view.

Judgemental analysis of the words cannot bring good fruit.

Only letting scripture teach us is useful

    Hi,

The expanding number of denominations attests to the ability of folks to wall in their dogmas

and rationalise away whatever does not agree with them.
